Squarespace is seeking an Engineering Team Manager for their Website Fundamentals team in Dublin. You'll shape the foundational architecture and lead a new platform-focused team to enhance engineering velocity. This role requires strong leadership and technical direction skills.

You have a proven track record of leading engineering teams and driving technical direction — your experience includes establishing clear ownership of shared dependencies and fostering a culture of sustainable innovation. You understand the importance of building high-performance, scalable infrastructure that empowers developers and aligns with long-term product visions.

You excel in mentoring and developing engineers — through regular one-on-ones and actionable feedback, you cultivate a positive team dynamic and recognize achievements that motivate your team. Your leadership style encourages collaboration and continuous improvement in team processes and efficiency.

You possess a deep understanding of relevant systems and can advocate for appropriate architectural choices — your strategic mindset allows you to plot with Design, Product, and Engineering to implement impactful roadmaps. You are passionate about nurturing high-performing software engineering teams and driving architectural excellence.

Desirable

Experience in platform-focused engineering roles or with modernizing core systems is a plus. Familiarity with foundational technical challenges in web development will help you excel in this role.

What you'll do

As the Engineering Team Manager, you will lead the Websites team at Squarespace, focusing on foundational architecture and technical challenges. You will be responsible for building and leading a new team dedicated to enhancing engineering velocity and modernizing core systems. Your role will involve establishing clear ownership of shared dependencies and driving the technical direction of the team.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Design and Product, to champion and implement an impactful roadmap that aligns with the company's long-term vision. Your leadership will directly impact millions of users, setting the foundation for future growth at Squarespace.

You will foster a culture of sustainable innovation, encouraging your team to excel as a unit while continuously improving processes and efficiency. Your ability to mentor and develop engineers will be crucial in nurturing a high-performing team dynamic.
