Job Description

Are you passionate about revolutionizing the way people interact with video content? Do you want to be at the forefront of integrating state of the art Generative AI technologies into the entertainment experience ? Prime Video X-Ray is seeking an enthusiastic Applied Scientist II to join our team in creating delightful customer-facing features that will redefine how millions of viewers engage with movies and TV shows globally.

At Prime Video X-Ray, we're re-imagining the entire entertainment landscape. Our innovative features go beyond traditional viewing, offering an immersive, interactive experience that deepens viewers' connection with their favorite shows and movies. From AI-powered X-Ray Recaps that provide engaging summaries of complex story-lines to interactive elements that bring stories to life, our features are pushing the boundaries of what's possible in streaming entertainment.

We are looking for an Applied Scientist II who can work on different aspects of video content, including text metadata, video, audio, and images. You'll apply a variety of techniques in computer vision, deep learning, machine learning, and image processing algorithms to build visual understanding, metadata extraction, and curation systems. You will be contributing to a platform that processes terabytes of video content data. You'll collaborate with other scientists and engineers across Amazon to implement new technologies, prototype solutions, and help deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Working closely with software development teams, you'll assist in building robust vision-based solutions for customer-facing applications. This role requires a willingness to learn and adapt in an environment where problems haven't been addressed at scale before. We value initiative and ownership. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to practical applications, working with product teams, science backend, and various other teams across the organization. Your work will directly impact millions of users, as you help develop the next generation of viewing experiences with Prime Video X-Ray.

We guarantee that you'll learn a ton, have fun, and be part of innovation in streaming entertainment.- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
- Master's degree or above in engineering, technology, computer science, machine learning, robotics, operations research, statistics, mathematics or equivalent quantitative field
- Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business application- Experience implementing algorithms using both toolkits and self-developed code
- Have publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
- Experience in state-of-the-art deep learning models architecture design and deep learning training and optimization and model pruning
- Experience in investigating, designing, prototyping, and delivering new and innovative system solutions
