Google is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for Google Pay to leverage analytics in solving product and business problems. You'll work with Python, R, and SQL to drive insights and recommendations. This role requires 5+ years of experience in data science or analytics.

Who you are

You have a Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience. With at least 8 years of experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, you are skilled in performing statistical analysis and coding with languages such as Python, R, and SQL. Alternatively, you may have 5 years of work experience with a Master's degree. You possess experience with experiments and causal analysis, turning insights into actionable product decisions. Your background includes leading interactions and communications with executive management, showcasing your ability to manage and organize work effectively.

You have experience working in the payments, online e-commerce, or marketplace industry, which gives you a strong understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in these sectors. Your expertise in driving incrementality studies or value estimation through causal methods is a significant asset. As a business or quantitative analyst in e-commerce, payments, or financial services, you have honed your analytical skills and developed a keen eye for detail. You thrive in unstructured environments and excel at cross-functional collaboration, making you an excellent partner for Product Managers and Engineers.

What you'll do

In this role, you will serve as a data-loving member of the Google Pay team, providing quantitative support and market understanding to partners throughout the organization. You will be responsible for automating reporting and applying causal inference and evaluation frameworks for feature evaluation. Owning the end-to-end analytics stack, you will define metrics and build data schemas in collaboration with engineering teams. Your work will involve executing experimentation and optimization to enhance product performance.

You will lead global and multi-market projects, framing solutions to solve data problems and optimize recommendation quality for improved end-user experience. Your ability to weave stories with meaningful insights from data will help guide critical recommendations that impact Google's worldwide user base of over a billion people. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring that data-driven insights are effectively communicated and utilized in product decisions.
