Overview

SpaceX is hiring an Integration & Test Specialist for their Starlink Propulsion team in Redmond, WA. You'll be responsible for operating propulsion production test systems and troubleshooting test system errors. This role requires experience with Linux and Python.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in operating and troubleshooting test systems, ideally with experience in propulsion or aerospace environments. Your familiarity with Linux and Python allows you to effectively manage test logs and telemetry, ensuring systems operate at optimal rates. You are detail-oriented and have a knack for identifying root causes of equipment failures, developing permanent resolutions through software updates or hardware changes. Your experience in designing and implementing assembly fixtures and tooling enhances manufacturing processes, contributing to overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) improvements.

You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with production, engineering, and qualification teams to support various tests. Your ability to interpret complex data and logs enables you to provide valuable insights during test operations. You are proactive in managing new configuration introductions into production areas, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal disruptions.

Desirable

Experience in the aerospace industry or with satellite technology is a plus. Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and a passion for space exploration will set you apart. You are adaptable and open to learning new technologies and processes as they evolve.

What you'll do

As an Integration & Test Specialist, you will operate propulsion production test systems, ensuring they run efficiently and effectively. You will be the first line of defense in troubleshooting test system errors, utilizing your skills to read and interpret test logs and telemetry. Your role will involve supporting production, engineering, and qualification tests, including equipment bring-up and configuration, as well as conducting dry runs and in situ troubleshooting.

You will play a key role in identifying and implementing changes to design and processes that enhance manufacturing efficiency. Your responsibilities will include executing and managing new configuration introductions into the production area, ensuring that all changes are documented and communicated effectively.

In addition, you will design and implement assembly fixtures, tooling, and shop aids that improve manufacturing processes. Your contributions will directly impact the overall effectiveness of the production team, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
