Data Engineer

Who you are

You have experience working as a Data Engineer or DBA, with a deep understanding of performance tuning techniques for relational databases, preferably MySQL or Vertica. Your knowledge extends to infrastructure components, storage, networking, and server hardware, allowing you to effectively analyze and optimize database performance. You are proficient in scripting and programming languages such as Bash, Perl, or Python, enabling you to build tools that assist the team in their daily tasks. You are self-motivated, eager to learn, and thrive on challenges, demonstrating the ability to work independently while communicating effectively in English.

It would be great if you also have in-depth knowledge of Linux systems and experience with databases like Vertica, HBase, Cassandra, or Elastic. Familiarity with NoSQL databases and queuing systems, particularly Kafka, is a plus. Experience in web-facing environments will further enhance your candidacy.

What you'll do

As a Data Engineer at Taboola, you will advise on optimal database design by analyzing application behavior and business requirements. You will design data flow processes and work with AI at scale to develop high-impact solutions. Your role will involve proactively monitoring and optimizing database queries, processes, tables, and resources to ensure peak performance.
