Job Description

Amazon is seeking Business Intelligence Engineer to work in the Process Engineering (PE) team. The North America (NA) PE Business Intelligence Engineer is a regional position and will be based in Nashville, TN. The NA PE team is a group of operational leaders driving process standardization and continuous improvement for the Global Customer Fulfillment Network. This team is essential to establish best in class process performance across all different processes (direct / indirect), accelerate implementation of technological advancements and strengthen the technical process knowledge acumen for the operational leaders across the FC network. NA PE ensures the operations teams are driving standards based on insight tools supporting successful delivery of expected gains for technology advances and network wide process improvements. The team drives process control and mean shifting performance with the outcome of minimizing variation between shifts, building and region, to deliver strong performance. The team works closely with regional Central Ops and ACES teams to improve the input metrics for each of the process paths by prioritizing and channeling resources.
The NA PE Business Intelligence Engineer works alongside with the Program Leaders and PE networks Team(s), while keeping high collaboration with other operations support functions. This role is responsible for driving technology in the Road To Benchmark variation reduction and other core programs through scaling and automation initiatives. This role requires the ability to deliver, collaborate strategically and execute tactically by demonstrating ownership for improvement initiatives, innovating through applied technology and deliver meaningful results translating to tangible productivity and efficiency gains.

Key job responsibilities
• Leadership of data pipeline alterations, expansion and automation for NA PE programs.
• Lead infrastructure development for data pipelines by FC technology to achieve scalable means of data access to achieve program requirements.
• Develop, Own and Drive maintenance methods for data pipeline upkeep improving the status quo through time.
• Lead the automation Road To Benchmark Program and other programs improving effectiveness and efficiencies through time.
• Support additional PE initiatives through right sizing data infrastructure based on the prospects of initiative or projects.
• Support development of scalable tools for inclusive development of PE team members enabling team to self-serve and learn applied technologies relevant to be successful in role.
• Be ready to support PE Projects initial scope and coordinate between data teams to achieve goal.
• Ability to travel as needed to support areas of responsibility. Domestic and regional travel estimate average: 0-15%. (Subject to change based on business need).
- Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Knowledge of advanced skills in Excel as well as any data visualization tools like Tableau or similar BI tools (familiarity with Tableau preferred)
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling- Strong fundamentals in problem-solving, algorithm design and complexity analysis.
- Experience in data mining, SQL, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets.
- Master’s degree in BI, Finance, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance or related field
- Excellent communication skills and detail orientation
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to motivate and led teams temporarily assembled for singular project objective.
