Join Amazon as a Risk Manager – Shape the future of Risk and Governance in Finance Operations

Amazon is seeking a Risk Manager to join our Finance Operations Risk, Governance, and Experience (FORGE) team. In this role, you'll lead high-impact projects optimizing audit operations and risk management strategies for our global Finance Operations (FinOps) organization. You'll drive operational excellence through project management for audits that touch corporate procurement, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and real estate functions. The ideal candidate combines strong compliance expertise with program management skills to develop innovative solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams – all in support of Amazon’ s mission to be Earth’s most customer-centric company.


Key job responsibilities
As a Risk Manager, you will be the go-to expert for project and program management across Finance Operations Risk & Governance (FORGE). Your responsibilities will include:

Strategic Leadership through Program Management
• Leading program management strategy for audit and risk management initiatives.
• Presenting data-driven program updates to FORGE and FinOps leadership through regular business reviews by translating complex data into actionable insights.
• Tracking team goals to measure program effectiveness and drive consistency between team compliance projects.
• Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance team efficiency and scalability.

Compliance and Audit Technical Expertise
• Acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for audit tracking and risk management systems.
• Partnering with technical teams to identify opportunities for improvement and implement automation and system enhancements. Communicate these changes to the broader team and train others on the enhancements.
• Auditing external reports and simplifying the audit lifecycle through automation.


About the team
The team is ~70 people responsible for Risk Management for Finance Operations (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Real Estate and Facilities, Corporate Procurement, Finance Automation (Tech), and Accounting & Analysis.)- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements- Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials
- Experience establishing successful partnerships with internal and external teams to execute tactical initiatives or equivalent
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
