Google is seeking a Data Center Facilities Technician II, Mechanical to support the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems in data centers. You'll work with HVAC systems and mechanical equipment in Santiago, Chile.
You have an Associate's degree, trade school certification, or equivalent practical experience in a related technical field, along with at least 5 years of Mechanical/HVAC experience in an industrial or commercial environment. You are capable of participating in material handling tasks, including lifting and moving equipment, and you are familiar with OSHA standard safety equipment. Your experience includes maintenance of mechanical and cooling distribution systems, ideally in data centers, hospitals, or power plants. You possess knowledge of mechanical systems used in a data center environment, such as chillers, air handling units, pumps, and CRAC/CRAH units. You are skilled in using meters, devices, sensors, and troubleshooting with standard hand tools and diagnostic equipment. You can effectively communicate with contractors performing maintenance or upgrades on data center systems.
As a Data Center Facilities Technician II at Google, you will operate, monitor, and support the physical facilities conditions of the data center. Your responsibilities will include managing the uptime and maintenance of water pumps, treatment systems, HVAC, and control and monitoring systems. You will respond to abnormal conditions in the data center facilities systems and equipment, ensuring optimal performance. You will support the startup, commissioning, and integration of new mechanical equipment and systems into the facilities infrastructure. Your role will require you to work non-standard hours and participate in work rotations or shifts, contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of the data center operations.
