SpaceX is hiring an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer to implement safety programs at the Starship rocket development site. Who you are

You have a strong background in environmental and occupational safety, with hands-on experience in implementing safety programs. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are skilled at conducting detailed safety reviews of complex operations. Your ability to work well under pressure makes you an ideal fit for the fast-paced environment at SpaceX.

You are knowledgeable about OSHA, NFPA, and NIOSH regulations and have experience developing compliance strategies. Your analytical skills enable you to lead incident investigations effectively, conducting root cause analyses and developing corrective actions. You are proactive in identifying potential hazards and implementing job hazard assessments to ensure a safe workplace.

You possess excellent communication skills, allowing you to collaborate effectively with test engineers and technician teams. Your attention to detail ensures that safety policies and procedures are not only developed but also adhered to across all operations. You are committed to fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the team.

Desirable

Experience in the aerospace or manufacturing industry is a plus, as is familiarity with safety management systems. You are adaptable and open to learning new safety practices and technologies that can enhance the safety culture at SpaceX.

What you'll do

As an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of operations at the Starship rocket development and test site. You will work closely with engineers and technicians to perform safety reviews of hazardous operations, ensuring that all activities are conducted safely and in compliance with regulations.

You will lead incident investigations, conducting thorough analyses to identify root causes and develop effective corrective actions. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and NIOSH guidelines, and you will collaborate with department leadership to implement health and safety policies and procedures.
