Senior Security Engineer

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in security engineering, with a strong focus on cloud-native applications and infrastructure. Your expertise in security tooling and cloud technologies allows you to effectively manage security assessments and remediation efforts. You are familiar with DevOps principles and understand how to embed security practices across teams. Your analytical mindset helps you proactively identify and prioritize security risks, ensuring a robust security posture for the organization.

You possess deep technical skills in various security tools and technologies, including AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes. Your experience with vulnerability management and incident response equips you to handle complex security challenges. You are comfortable working in a collaborative environment, partnering with cross-functional teams to drive security initiatives and improve processes. You are committed to continuous learning and staying updated on the latest security trends and threats.

Desirable

Experience with tools like Terraform and Wireshark is a plus, as is familiarity with Elasticsearch for monitoring and logging. You may also have knowledge of compliance frameworks and risk management practices, which will further enhance your contributions to the security team.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead security initiatives across Contentful’s cloud-native product infrastructure and corporate environments. You will manage daily alerts and operations, applying your expertise to ensure the security of applications and infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include conducting threat modeling, risk assessments, and collaborating on architectural design to enhance security measures.

You will proactively identify and lead complex security assessments, working to remediate vulnerabilities in cloud-native applications and vendor integrations. Your role will involve supporting vulnerability management efforts and driving measurable risk reduction across the organization. You will also be responsible for the rapid detection and response to security incidents, ensuring that the organization maintains a strong security posture.

As a hands-on Senior Security Engineer, you will have the opportunity to influence the strategic direction of the company’s architecture and security initiatives.
