Job Description

Amazon Robotics Learning Experience and Technologies (AR-LExT) is seeking a Systems Development Engineer II to join our innovative team. In this role, you'll be responsible for developing new platform features while also ensuring system reliability and operational excellence of the Global Robotics University platform, a critical system that powers the training of Amazon's worldwide robotics operations teams. You'll leverage your expertise in software development, systems design, and automation to create scalable and resilient solutions that directly impact thousands of users across Amazon's global network. This position offers an exciting opportunity to both build new capabilities and enhance system reliability, contributing significantly to the growth of Amazon's robotics capabilities.

Key job responsibilities
* Develop and maintain platform features while implementing automation solutions for the Global Robotics University platform, balancing new functionality with system resilience and operational excellence
* Lead the development of robust monitoring systems and diagnostic tools to improve platform reliability, troubleshooting capabilities, and operational efficiency across multiple components
* Drive continuous improvement of system architecture and infrastructure, identifying and resolving architectural deficiencies while ensuring seamless integration with partner teams' systems
* Build and maintain operational tooling to automate routine tasks, standardize incident response procedures, and improve system maintenance efficiency
* Actively contribute to feature development, system design reviews, operational readiness assessments, and post-incident analysis to improve overall platform capabilities and performance at scale

A day in the life
* Design and implement new, cloud-based, software solutions to aid in managing edge devices at scale.
* Support team mates with insightful code reviews, peer programming, brainstorms and design discussions.
* Ensure the nominal operation of our cloud-based services, expanding metrics coverage and upholding high operational excellence standards.

- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
- Knowledge of a front-end language (Javascript, CSS, HTML, etc.)
- Experience building services using AWS products- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
