You possess deep expertise in GraphQL and understand its architecture and best practices. Your experience includes working with developer platforms that empower engineering teams to deliver high-quality products efficiently.

You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys driving platform architecture decisions and implementing scalable solutions. Your ability to collaborate with product teams across various business units enables you to understand their needs and translate them into effective technical solutions.

You have a passion for building developer tools and SDKs that enhance the productivity of engineering teams. Your experience includes working in a centralized platform team, where you have maintained infrastructure that connects multiple applications and services.

Desirable

Experience with other API technologies and frameworks is a plus. Familiarity with cloud services and infrastructure management will also be beneficial in this role.

What you'll do

As a Senior Software Engineer on the GraphQL team, you will lead the design and implementation of core GraphQL platform features, including API gateway capabilities and schema management tools. Your role will involve driving architectural decisions that ensure the platform scales effectively across Block's ecosystem.

You will collaborate closely with product teams from various brands, such as Square and Cash App, to understand their requirements and build solutions that enhance both internal and external API capabilities. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of product engineering teams.

You will be responsible for maintaining the GraphQL infrastructure, ensuring it meets the needs of the organization while also promoting best practices in API design and implementation. Your work will involve regular communication with cross-functional teams to align on goals and deliverables.
