Overview

Amazon is hiring an Area Manager for their logistics operations in Saitama. You'll oversee shipping plans and delivery routes while managing a team to ensure efficient product delivery. This role requires experience in logistics management and team leadership.

Job Description

Who you are

You have at least 3 years of experience in staff management and team leadership, ideally in a logistics or operations environment. Your problem-solving skills are strong, allowing you to identify issues and implement effective solutions. You possess basic computer skills, including proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel, enabling you to manage operations efficiently. Your communication skills are excellent, allowing you to effectively coordinate with internal and external stakeholders. You are fluent in Japanese and have a good command of English, which helps you navigate diverse work environments. You are also committed to fostering an inclusive culture and working positively within diverse teams.

What you'll do

As an Area Manager, you will be responsible for planning and managing shipping routes and delivery schedules to ensure timely product delivery. You will oversee the sorting and dispatching of incoming products, coordinating with senior managers to ensure smooth operations. Your role will involve managing a team of staff, including shift scheduling and performance monitoring, to maintain operational efficiency. You will also be tasked with identifying areas for process improvement, working closely with senior management to develop and implement strategies that enhance safety, quality, and productivity. Regular meetings with senior area managers will be part of your routine to discuss operational improvements and share insights. You will work in a three-shift system, including night shifts, to ensure continuous operations.
