Esri is seeking a Senior Product Engineer to enhance global vector basemaps for GIS services. You'll leverage your software engineering skills and GIS expertise to improve mapping services used by millions. This role requires 5+ years of experience with data pipelines and Esri technology.
You have over 5 years of experience improving and maintaining data pipelines, QA systems, and release processes for software and data-driven products — you've developed a keen understanding of efficient, high-quality release processes that enhance user experiences. Your proficiency in the software development lifecycle, including QA and production release, allows you to navigate complex challenges effectively.
Your expertise with Esri technology, including ArcGIS Online, Pro, and Enterprise, equips you to build and analyze high-quality basemaps that serve millions of users worldwide. You are passionate about geographic data and understand the importance of delivering accurate and timely mapping services. Your ability to communicate complex information clearly enables you to present insights across teams and to decision-makers effectively.
You enjoy coaching and mentoring product engineers, fostering a collaborative environment where team members can thrive and deliver exceptional results. Your analytical mindset drives you to investigate issues and implement improvements that enhance product quality and user satisfaction.
Experience with Overture/OpenStreetMap is a plus, as it complements your existing skills in geographic data management. Familiarity with data visualization techniques will further enhance your ability to communicate insights effectively.
In this role, you will join a collaborative team of talented geographic data engineers, cartographers, and GIS specialists dedicated to creating and enhancing Esri's global vector basemaps. You will build, analyze, and release regular updates to these basemaps, integrating geographical data from Esri partners and contributors. Your work will directly impact the quality of mapping services provided to users worldwide.
You will design and implement improvements in processing to deliver high-quality basemaps to customers faster. This involves investigating questions and issues that arise during the development process and collaborating with others to enhance product quality and end-user experiences. Your role will also include coaching and mentoring product engineers, helping them to build and deliver high-quality basemaps.
You will communicate and present complex information, analysis, and insights across teams, decision-makers, and executives using clear presentation techniques, smart spreadsheets, and data visualizations. Your contributions will help shape the future of Esri's mapping services, ensuring they remain at the forefront of the GIS industry.
