Overview

Relativity is seeking a Staff Thermal Engineer to contribute to the development of the Terran R rocket. You'll work on integrated performance across various systems, ensuring ambitious objectives are met. This role requires expertise in thermal engineering and collaboration across teams.

You have extensive experience in thermal engineering, with a strong background in aerospace applications — you've tackled complex thermal challenges and understand the intricacies of rocket design. Desirable

Experience with rocket propulsion systems or similar high-stakes environments is a plus — you understand the unique challenges that come with developing cutting-edge aerospace technology. Familiarity with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools or thermal analysis software would enhance your contributions to the team.

What you'll do

As a Staff Thermal Engineer at Relativity, you will play a crucial role in the Integrated Performance team, focusing on the thermal aspects of the Terran R vehicle. You will analyze and optimize thermal systems, ensuring that all components can withstand the rigors of launch and operation in space. Your work will involve close collaboration with propulsion, manufacturing, and avionics teams to ensure that thermal considerations are integrated into every phase of the design process. You will also be responsible for developing and validating thermal models, conducting tests, and interpreting data to inform design decisions.
