You have over 5 years of experience in UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your ability to create user-centered designs that enhance user experiences. You excel in aligning core interaction patterns and leading design thinking processes, ensuring that user needs are at the forefront of product development. Your collaborative spirit allows you to work effectively with product managers and engineers, fostering a well-oiled feature team that delivers delightful experiences. You are data-driven, using research and analytics to inform your design decisions and shape the product roadmap. You possess a deep understanding of user behavior and can identify pain points in workflows, turning them into actionable design improvements.

Desirable

Experience with voice interface design is a plus, as Vapi is focused on voice as a primary interaction method. Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience in fast-paced startup environments will help you thrive in this role. You are comfortable with ambiguity and can adapt your design approach based on user feedback and evolving business needs.

What you'll do

In your first 30 days, you will immerse yourself in the Vapi product experience, identifying user pain points and generating a list of quick fixes to improve workflows. You will collaborate closely with design, product management, and engineering teams to forge a user-centered feature team. By the 60-day mark, you will design and deliver a high-leverage end-to-end product experience that visibly enhances user adoption, engagement, or retention. You will create detailed design specifications that align the team and customers, ensuring clarity and understanding of the design vision. Over the next 90 days, you will own and execute a 12-month roadmap of product features, building a reusable component system that enhances the overall product experience. Your goal is to raise the experience bar across Vapi by demonstrating clarity, speed, honesty, and customer empathy in every design decision.
