Overview

Carvana is seeking an Experienced Heavy Body Technician to perform extensive bodywork and train other technicians. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of professional automotive bodywork experience.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a minimum of 5 years of professional automotive bodywork experience, demonstrating your expertise in various bodywork techniques. Your background includes heavy plastic welding, metal pulling, straightening, and stud welding, showcasing your ability to handle complex repairs. You are skilled in roof and rocker panel repair, as well as large area bodywork, including Bondo repair, which highlights your proficiency in the field. As a team player, you are eager to train and mentor other autobody technicians, sharing your knowledge and experience to help them grow.

You understand the importance of delivering exceptional customer experiences and are committed to meeting deadlines, even if it requires mandatory overtime. Your attention to detail and dedication to quality work ensure that every vehicle you work on meets high standards. You are comfortable using state-of-the-art tools in a high-tech Inspection Center, which reflects your adaptability to modern automotive repair environments.

Desirable

Experience with advanced automotive repair techniques or certifications such as ASE would be a plus, as would familiarity with the latest automotive technologies and tools. A valid driver’s license and the ability to communicate effectively in English are essential for this role.

What you'll do

In your role as an Experienced Heavy Body Technician at Carvana, you will be responsible for performing extensive bodywork on multiple panels of vehicles. This includes heavy plastic welding and metal pulling, straightening, and shrinking, ensuring that all repairs are completed to the highest standards. You will also be involved in roof and rocker panel repairs, as well as large area bodywork, including Bondo repair, which requires a keen eye for detail and craftsmanship.

You will have the opportunity to train and mentor other autobody technicians, sharing your expertise and helping them develop their skills. This collaborative environment fosters teamwork and ensures that all technicians are equipped to deliver exceptional results. You will be expected to maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and best practices in automotive repair.
