Esri is seeking a Geoprocessing Product Engineer II - Documentation Writer to enhance and maintain geoprocessing tools in ArcGIS. You'll design, test, and document tools while communicating complex technical information. This role requires 2+ years of experience and expertise in Python.
You have a solid understanding of geoprocessing and analysis capabilities in ArcGIS, demonstrated through a portfolio or related projects. With over 2 years of experience, you excel at communicating complex technical information to diverse audiences, both in written and verbal forms. You are detail-oriented and capable of writing clear and concise documentation that helps users understand complex concepts. Your experience includes troubleshooting software issues and writing automated test cases in Python, showcasing your technical proficiency and problem-solving skills.
You have a passion for creating compelling content, such as blogs, videos, and tutorials that illustrate geoprocessing capabilities. Your ability to manage, edit, and review technical documentation is a valuable asset to the team. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with developers and product engineers to ensure user-friendly and performant software.
As a Geoprocessing Product Engineer II, you will join the geoprocessing development team to enhance and maintain a suite of over 2,000 geoprocessing tools in ArcGIS. Your primary responsibilities will include designing, testing, and documenting geoprocessing tools and workflows. You will troubleshoot software issues related to these tools and write automated test cases in Python to ensure quality and performance. Analyzing test results to determine pass/fail status will be a key part of your role, and you will report these results in a timely and consistent manner.
You will also author clear and concise help topics that assist users in navigating complex concepts. Your contributions will help shape the user experience and ensure that the tools are accessible and effective for thousands of organizations worldwide. Additionally, you will collaborate with developers and other product engineers to prioritize enhancements and bug fixes based on user feedback.
