Overview

Apple is seeking a Haptics Product Design Engineer to lead the design and development of innovative haptic actuators. You'll work with 3D CAD and mechanical engineering principles to enhance user experiences in products like the iPhone and Apple Watch.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a minimum of a bachelor's degree and possess strong fundamentals in mechanics, which you apply in your work. Your experience with 3D CAD and 2D drafting allows you to create detailed designs, while your knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis ensures precision in your projects. You are skilled at problem-solving, utilizing tools like the scientific method and root cause analysis to tackle challenges effectively. Proficiency with mechanical or electromagnetic FEA tools is part of your toolkit, enabling you to analyze designs thoroughly. You also have applied knowledge of electrical circuits, material science, and basic chemistry, which enhances your ability to innovate in product design. Team-oriented, you excel in communication, both written and verbal, ensuring collaboration across various functions.

What you'll do

In this role, you will take on end-to-end responsibility for the mechanical design and integration of haptic actuators from concept to production. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to bring innovative haptic solutions to life, contributing to the user experience of Apple’s products. Your work will involve leading the design and validation processes, ensuring that the actuators meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. You will face new challenges daily, requiring your analytical skills and creativity to develop solutions that push the boundaries of haptic technology. Your contributions will directly impact the next generation of Apple products, making this a pivotal role in the Haptic Engineering team.
