Dropbox is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for their Core AI Platform team to lead AI integrations into their flagship product. You'll work with technologies related to AI and distributed systems. This role requires strong leadership skills and technical expertise.
You have a strong background in AI agent infrastructure and building AI agents — you understand how to evaluate AI models for specific use cases and can advise on build vs buy decisions. Your expertise in distributed systems architecture allows you to design for scalability, fault tolerance, observability, and graceful degradation in multi-service environments. You thrive in a collaborative, virtual-first environment and possess robust managerial skills that enable you to drive direct business and customer impact. You are passionate about developing a culture of innovation and have experience leading teams of engineers.
Experience with cloud-based solutions and a deep understanding of file sync and share products will be beneficial. Familiarity with building platform/API abstractions to enable integration with AI-powered capabilities is a plus. You are comfortable working through ambiguity and chasing impact, which aligns with Dropbox's mission of simplifying the way people work together.
As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of 12-20 engineers on the Core AI Platform team. Your primary responsibility will be to integrate AI capabilities into Dropbox’s flagship File Sync & Share product. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to define the strategy and ensure efficient operational excellence. Your role will involve creating a new platform/API abstraction that allows all Core teams to easily integrate AI-powered capabilities. You will also be responsible for building data pipelines at scale, ensuring that the infrastructure supports the evolving needs of the product and its users.
You will foster a team culture that rewards a bias for action and encourages engineering partnership in defining strategy. Your leadership will be pivotal in shaping the future of Dropbox, and you will be expected to drive results in a collaborative environment.
