Observability - Senior Build Engineer (Go/CI)

Who you are

You have a strong background in software engineering with a focus on build processes, particularly in CI/CD environments. Your experience with Go programming language is extensive, and you understand the intricacies of managing complex projects. You are adept at implementing testing strategies and ensuring that automated tests deliver accurate results efficiently. You are familiar with containerization technologies and promote their use in build processes. Desirable

Experience with Elasticsearch is a plus, as it aligns with the technologies used at Elastic. Familiarity with security best practices in software supply chains will also be beneficial. You are proactive in identifying bottlenecks in processes and have a track record of implementing improvements that enhance productivity.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the build, test, and release processes for Elastic Agent. You will ensure that the CI/CD systems are running smoothly and that automated tests are delivering reliable results. Your work will involve producing analytics to quantify the impact of CI processes on business outcomes, helping to surface bottlenecks and prioritize improvements. You will implement a curated testing strategy, manage flaky tests, and maintain an up-to-date support matrix to ensure the reliability of the build process. Additionally, you will promote the use of container-based builds and standardized tooling within the CI environment. Ensuring proper access controls and secret management will be part of your responsibilities, as will aligning with compliance requirements to maintain security standards.
