Job Description

**About the Role** You will be a Senior Software Engineer working on vehicle sensor data collection. The ideal candidate will be able to identify issues, provide solutions and implement the fixes as well as setting a high technical excellence bar in all things we do. **What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points** Design and deliver software and tools for vehicle sensor data collection. 1. Systems architecture design, including management of upstream and downstream dependencies 2. Provide technical leadership, influence and partner with fellow engineers to architect, design and build scalable solutions for sensor data collection that can stand the test of scale and availability, while reducing operational overhead 3. Design and implement software for sensor calibration 4. Participate in periodic on-call rotations and be available for critical issues 5. Collaborate with platform and security engineering teams. \-\-\-\- Basic Qualifications ---- 1. 3 years of working experience in the software engineering industry 2. Bachelor degree in computer science, computer engineering or related fields 3. Proficient in Python, C++ and Linux 4. Proficient in vehicle sensor technologies 5. Familiar with sensor calibration, time synchronization 6. Experience with the Robot Operating System. \-\-\-\- Preferred Qualifications ---- 1. 5 years of working experience in the software engineering industry. 2. Master or PhD degree in computer science, computer engineering or related fields 3. Experience with NVIDIA Drive OS. For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
