You'll work with technologies like C, C++, and Python to enhance satellite internet services. This role requires experience in embedded systems and software development.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in embedded systems, with experience in developing software for custom hardware — you've worked on projects that involve deploying software to millions of devices and understand the challenges of scaling such systems. Your proficiency in C and C++ allows you to write efficient and reliable code that interacts directly with hardware components. You are also familiar with Python, which you use for scripting and automation tasks in your development workflow. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products. You are passionate about technology and eager to contribute to innovative projects that have a real-world impact.

Desirable

Experience with satellite communication systems or similar technologies would be a plus, as would familiarity with telemetry systems and user experience optimization. You are open to learning new technologies and methodologies that can enhance your work and the overall performance of the Starlink system.

What you'll do

As an Embedded Software Engineer at SpaceX, you will be responsible for developing software that runs on custom hardware deployed in the Starlink satellite constellation — your work will directly impact the user experience of millions of customers worldwide. You will create infrastructure and tools that facilitate rapid and reliable deployment of code, ensuring that updates and improvements reach users seamlessly. Your role will involve writing software for Starlink's custom phased array and modem silicon, focusing on performance and reliability. You will also work on improving the telemetry system that scales to millions of devices, ensuring that data is accurately collected and analyzed to enhance service delivery. Collaboration with hardware engineers will be key, as you will need to ensure that your software integrates smoothly with the physical components of the Starlink system. You will participate in code reviews and contribute to the overall architecture of the software systems, ensuring best practices are followed throughout the development process.
