SpaceX is hiring a CMM Programmer for the Starlink project to enhance the accuracy of manufactured components. You'll work closely with engineering teams and utilize CMM programming software. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of CMM programming and GD&T.

Who you are

You have a comprehensive understanding of CMM programming and GD&T, with experience in precision inspection of mechanical parts and components. You thrive in a cross-functional environment, collaborating with machinists, engineering teams, and management to ensure the success of manufactured components. Your attention to detail allows you to spot interpretation issues related to engineering drawings and dimensions, ensuring that all parts meet the required specifications. You are skilled in selecting and utilizing standard gauges for quality assurance, and you understand the importance of maintaining organized and accurate programming documentation.

Desirable

Experience with bridge-style machines and 5-axis head motion is a plus. Familiarity with various inspection tools and techniques will enhance your ability to perform in this role. A background in aerospace or a related field will be beneficial, as will any certifications related to quality assurance or inspection processes.

What you'll do

As a CMM Programmer at SpaceX, you will perform precision inspections on mechanical parts, assemblies, and materials, ensuring they conform to specifications and drawings. You will be responsible for first article inspections, in-process checks, and final inspections, utilizing CMM programming software to enhance the accuracy of the manufacturing process. Your role will involve close collaboration with machinists and engineering teams to identify areas for improvement in the manufacturing process, ultimately increasing the success rate of components produced in the Starlink development area.

You will create, maintain, and organize all CMM programs, ensuring they are up-to-date and effective in verifying the quality of manufactured parts. Your expertise in GD&T will be crucial in interpreting engineering drawings and ensuring that all dimensions and tolerances are met. You will also be tasked with selecting the appropriate tools for inspection, ensuring that feature tolerances are accurately measured and reported.
