You'll work closely with startups to showcase Datadog's value and ensure a smooth onboarding experience. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and business development skills.
You have a strong background in technical sales engineering, ideally with experience in the startup ecosystem — you understand the unique challenges that fast-scaling companies face and can effectively communicate technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders. Your ability to manage projects and lead teams is complemented by your technical knowledge, allowing you to bridge the gap between engineering and business development seamlessly. You thrive in dynamic environments and are comfortable engaging with CTOs and founders alike, showcasing your expertise in observability and security solutions.
You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to deliver tailored demos that highlight the differentiators of Datadog's offerings — your ability to create urgency for adoption ensures that startups realize value quickly. You are adept at troubleshooting and can connect clients with the right resources within Datadog to support their needs. Your experience in managing forward-deployed engineering projects allows you to deeply understand client workflows, pain points, and business processes, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience.
Experience with observability and security tools is a plus, as is familiarity with the startup landscape. You are a proactive problem solver who enjoys working closely with clients to implement solutions that drive success.
As the DDFS Engineering Lead, you will validate startup technical needs during pre-program discovery and deliver tailored demos that showcase Datadog's value. You will manage FDE engineering projects embedded directly with client sites, ensuring a smooth technical onboarding experience by removing friction and highlighting key moments of realization for clients. Your role will involve answering competitive engineering questions and positioning Datadog effectively against alternatives, creating urgency for adoption so startups can quickly realize value within their credits period.
You will also be responsible for implementing Datadog for clients, troubleshooting issues, and connecting clients to the appropriate support resources within Datadog. Your work will involve a blend of technical sales engineering and project management, allowing you to leverage your expertise to drive ecosystem growth and attract top startups into the program. You will host networking events and engage with the startup community, further establishing Datadog as an essential platform for scaling.
At Datadog, we offer a collaborative and innovative work environment where you can make a significant impact on the startup ecosystem. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and help shape the future of observability and security for fast-scaling companies.
