We are forming a new organization within Prime Video to redefine our operational landscape through the power of artificial intelligence. As part of this initiative, we are seeking a hands-on Software Development Manager to lead a core team of front-end and back-end engineers. You will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of the agentic AI solutions that will automate complex business processes across Prime Video. This is a chance to build from the ground up, working closely with product and science leaders to turn a bold vision into the software that powers it. This role is critical to our strategy, and you will be at the forefront of building the technology that allows Prime Video to operate more efficiently and innovate faster for our customers
Key job responsibilities
• Recruit, hire, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, developing their skills and helping them grow their careers.
• Lead your team to design, develop, and deliver scalable, high-quality automated systems and services.
• Partner closely with product managers, applied scientists, and other technical teams to deliver on the product and technical roadmap.
• Drive engineering and operational excellence, establishing metrics and processes for regular assessment and improvement.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance, influencing the strategic direction by understanding customer needs and technical opportunities.
• Manage project priorities, anticipate bottlenecks, and make trade-offs to balance business needs with technical constraints.
• Communicate with stakeholders and senior leadership about your team's strategy, technical designs, and project delivery.

- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
