Markforged is hiring a Value Engineer to develop accurate cost models for mechanical and electrical components. You'll work with CAD and engineering drawings to optimize manufacturing processes. This role requires experience in mechanical engineering and cost estimation.
You have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in developing cost models for components and assemblies. You are proficient in reviewing engineering drawings and CAD models, understanding part geometry, tolerances, and functional requirements. Your analytical skills allow you to estimate costs based on manufacturing processes and material selection effectively. You have a collaborative mindset, working closely with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to validate designs and evaluate supplier quotes. You are detail-oriented and committed to identifying improvements in design and manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Experience with electrical components and assemblies is a plus. Familiarity with supply chain management and supplier evaluation processes will help you excel in this role. A background in advanced manufacturing technologies, including 3D printing, will be beneficial.
As a Value Engineer at Markforged, you will take ownership of developing detailed should-cost models for mechanical and electrical components.
