Senior Product Security Engineer

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in application security, with a strong background in assessing and validating security standards for services and applications. Your expertise includes conducting threat modeling and secure code reviews, ensuring that security is integrated into the development lifecycle. You are familiar with security automation and have a proactive approach to identifying vulnerabilities in web and native applications. You enjoy mentoring others and sharing your knowledge with junior engineers, helping them grow in their security expertise.

You have a solid understanding of the latest security threats and trends, and you continuously adapt your strategies to address the evolving threat landscape. Your experience includes working with security tools such as Burp Suite and OWASP, and you are comfortable using Docker and Kubernetes in your security assessments. You are a collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys working closely with cross-functional teams to enhance security practices.

Desirable

Experience with cloud security and familiarity with DevSecOps practices would be a plus. You may also have knowledge of compliance frameworks and regulations that impact application security, such as GDPR or HIPAA.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing the security of Celonis' applications and services, identifying and addressing security issues before they become critical threats. You will conduct thorough security assessments and provide actionable recommendations to improve the security posture of the organization. Your work will involve collaborating with development teams to ensure that security is a priority from the design phase through to deployment.

You will lead secure code reviews and threat modeling sessions, guiding teams on best practices for secure software development. Additionally, you will build and maintain security automation tools to streamline security processes and enhance efficiency. Your role will also include mentoring junior application security engineers, providing them with guidance and support as they work on securing the application layer services.

You will stay up-to-date with the latest security vulnerabilities and trends, adapting your strategies to mitigate risks effectively. Your contributions will help shape the security culture within the organization, fostering a proactive approach to security across all teams.
