Who you are

You are a Junior Data Engineer with a foundational understanding of data engineering principles and a passion for analytics and machine learning. You have experience working with cloud platforms, particularly GCP, and are eager to learn and grow in a collaborative environment. You possess strong problem-solving skills and are comfortable troubleshooting data pipelines to ensure accuracy and reliability. You understand the importance of data quality and are committed to maintaining high standards in your work. You are a team player who enjoys collaborating with data scientists and business teams to translate requirements into scalable data models. You are proactive in seeking out opportunities to optimize processes and reduce costs in cloud environments.

Desirable

Experience with CI/CD practices for data pipelines and familiarity with additional GCP services such as Pub/Sub and Cloud Functions would be advantageous. A basic understanding of pricing optimization and forecasting workflows is also a plus.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and operating data pipelines, ensuring they run smoothly in BigQuery and Google Cloud Storage. You will monitor these pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and escalate problems as necessary to maintain data accuracy and reliability. You will also develop new ingestion and transformation pipelines to support various reporting and analysis needs, optimizing storage and compute resources to manage costs effectively. Your work will involve building curated data models in Dataform to power reporting and dashboards, implementing tests and data quality checks to ensure the integrity of the data. You will collaborate closely with business teams to understand their requirements and translate them into effective data solutions. Additionally, you will partner with data scientists to operationalize machine learning and AI solutions, contributing to the overall data strategy of the organization.
