Google is seeking an Embedded Engineer to work on power management software for embedded systems. You'll utilize your skills in Embedded Linux, C, and C++ to develop critical software solutions. This position requires 2+ years of experience in software development and embedded operating systems.
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with at least 2 years of experience in software development using one or more programming languages. Your background includes working with embedded operating systems, and you possess excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. If you have a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field, that's a plus. You also have experience in system-level management, particularly in areas like power, thermal, or battery management, and have developed software such as firmware or Linux kernel.
You are familiar with hardware and prototype bring-up and debugging, utilizing common lab tools effectively. Your investigative skills allow you to tackle complex challenges, and you thrive in environments that require innovative thinking and adaptability. You are enthusiastic about taking on new problems across the full-stack and are eager to contribute to projects that have a significant impact.
Experience with power management features across hardware and software is highly desirable. If you have worked on defining and developing hardware and software architectures for power management, you will find this role particularly engaging. Familiarity with tools, scripts, and tests for debugging power events and system profiling will also be beneficial.
In this role, you will work on specific projects critical to Google’s needs, focusing on developing software for power management. You will define, develop, and utilize tools and scripts for debugging power events, system profiling, and power consumption analysis. Your contributions will include proposing and driving the implementation of power management features across both hardware and software platforms. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the software you develop meets the high standards expected at Google.
