The Role: Insurance Integration Lead (Engineering)
As the Insurance Integration Lead, you’ll own the technical roadmap for insurer integrations - powering everything from product onboarding to policy issuance, claims, and renewals. This role goes beyond coordination - it’s an engineering-first position, responsible for architecting and delivering complex integration frameworks that connect multiple insurers and products with Upstox’s core platform.
What You'll Own
Lead and own end-to-end insurer integrations — APIs, workflows, and data flows across multiple insurance partners.
Design and develop scalable microservices-based systems for product, policy, and claims management.
Partner with insurance companies and internal stakeholders to define integration requirements, SLAs, and workflows.
Build reusable frameworks for faster onboarding of new insurers and product lines.
Manage a small engineering team; mentor developers and ensure high-quality, secure, and reliable code delivery.
Collaborate with product, design, and business teams to align integrations with user journeys and business goals.
Drive continuous improvement in integration standards, testing frameworks, and monitoring processes.
Who You Are
8 - 10 years of strong engineering experience, with at least 5 years in insurance integrations team management (policy issuance, endorsements, renewals, claims).
Hands-on experience working with insurance aggregators or brokers
Deep expertise in backend technologies: .NET Core, C#, Web APIs, Microservices, REST/ SOAP, SQL/ PostgreSQL.
Familiarity with API Gateways, RabbitMQ, and microservice orchestration.
Experience leading a small engineering team or project squad.
Strong understanding of insurance product architecture, distribution, and compliance workflows.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, product-led environment.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering / Computer Science.
