Relativity is seeking a Build Quality Engineer II to ensure quality in the design and production processes of their Terran R rocket. You'll collaborate closely with various teams to influence how products are built from the start. This role requires a strong focus on quality assurance in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

Who you are

You have a solid background in quality assurance, ideally with experience in aerospace or manufacturing environments. You understand the importance of embedding quality into every part of the design and production process, not just inspecting at the end. Your problem-solving skills are top-notch, and you thrive in collaborative settings where you can influence how things are built from the start. You are detail-oriented and have a passion for ensuring that products meet the highest standards of quality. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a focus on quality. You believe in the importance of teamwork and communication, and you enjoy working closely with design, manufacturing, test, and launch teams to achieve common goals.

Desirable

Experience in the aerospace industry or with rocket propulsion systems would be a significant advantage. Familiarity with quality management systems and methodologies, such as Six Sigma or ISO standards, is also desirable. You may have experience with statistical process control and data analysis, which will help you in identifying areas for improvement in the production process. A background in engineering or a related field would be beneficial, as it will give you a deeper understanding of the technical aspects of the role.

What you'll do

As a Build Quality Engineer II at Relativity, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the Terran R rocket meets all quality standards throughout its development. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, embedding yourself within design and manufacturing processes to influence quality from the ground up. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing quality assurance plans, conducting inspections, and performing audits to ensure compliance with established standards. You will analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and you will collaborate with engineers to address any quality issues that arise during production. Your role will also involve training team members on quality standards and best practices, fostering a culture of quality within the organization. You will be expected to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, providing updates on quality metrics and improvement initiatives.

What we offer

At Relativity, you will be part of a dynamic team that is pushing the boundaries of aerospace technology. We offer a competitive salary range of $101,000—$130,000 USD, along with opportunities for professional growth and development. You will have the chance to work on groundbreaking projects that have the potential to change the future of space exploration. Our company culture emphasizes autonomy, ownership, and impact, allowing you to make meaningful contributions to the success of the Terran R rocket. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds.
