Apple is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to integrate custom power circuits into the Apple Watch. You'll work on power management ICs and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize power delivery. This role requires 5+ years of experience in hardware design.
You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering and over 5 years of experience shipping hardware on a system or module team, specifically focusing on power IC or system design. Your strong analog fundamentals enable you to design, operate, and optimize switching supplies, LDOs, and power delivery networks effectively. You possess hands-on experience working with power ICs and are familiar with test and measurement procedures in a lab environment. You thrive in collaborative settings, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of power technologies.
Experience with custom power management ICs and a deep understanding of power delivery systems will set you apart. Familiarity with the Apple Watch ecosystem or similar consumer electronics will be advantageous. You are detail-oriented and have a passion for optimizing power systems to enhance product performance.
In this role, you will integrate custom power circuits into the Apple Watch, driving the electrical design of a product loved and used worldwide. You will be responsible for PMU system design and configuration, defining the power delivery network, including component selection and layout. Your work will involve collaborating with the PMU, battery, and wireless charging teams, as well as silicon and Watch architects, to ensure efficient power delivery across the system. You will support power-related factory tests, validation, and issue triage, ensuring that the power systems meet the high standards expected by Apple customers.
You will engage in hands-on design and testing, working closely with engineers from various disciplines to optimize power management solutions. Your contributions will directly impact the design and performance of the Apple Watch, making your role crucial to the success of the product. You will also participate in cross-functional meetings to discuss project progress and address any challenges that arise during the integration process.
