Okta is seeking a Software Engineer II for their Security Engineering team to build and maintain security controls in a cloud environment. You'll work with AWS, Azure, or GCP, and utilize programming languages like Python, Go, or JavaScript. This role requires 2+ years of experience in Cloud Security Engineering.
You have 2+ years of experience in Cloud Security Engineering, demonstrating a strong understanding of security controls in cloud environments. Your expertise includes working with AWS, Azure, or GCP services, and you are proficient in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, or JavaScript. You also have experience writing and deploying Terraform code, showcasing your ability to automate infrastructure as code. Your strong written and verbal communication skills enable you to effectively collaborate with engineering teams and convey complex security concepts clearly.
Bonus points if you have experience in the identity and access management (IAM) domain, which will enhance your contributions to our security initiatives. Familiarity with securing containers and Kubernetes is also a plus, as it aligns with our focus on modern cloud architectures. Additionally, experience working with a fully distributed, remote team will help you thrive in our collaborative environment.
In this role, you will build and maintain security controls in our cloud environment, ensuring that our systems are secure and compliant with industry standards. You will develop tooling to make security frictionless for Okta platform engineers, enabling them to focus on delivering value while adhering to security best practices. Your responsibilities will include developing design patterns, standards, and best practices for cloud security, which will guide our engineering teams in creating secure cloud infrastructure. You will also identify gaps in our security posture and prioritize remediation efforts, working closely with cross-functional teams to implement effective solutions.
