Job Description

Who you are

You have a background in mechanical engineering with experience in designing and qualifying flight hardware — you understand the complexities involved in integrating systems for aviation applications. You possess strong analytical skills and are adept at using tools like AutoCAD and SolidWorks to create detailed designs that meet stringent requirements. Your ability to collaborate closely with electrical teams ensures that all components work seamlessly together, and you thrive in environments where you can take ownership of projects from conception to completion.

Desirable

Experience with aerospace systems or satellite technology is a plus, as is familiarity with testing protocols and production processes. You are detail-oriented and have a track record of successfully delivering projects on time while maintaining high standards of quality.

What you'll do

As a Mechanical Engineer on the Aviation Engineering Team, you will be responsible for the design, qualification, and testing of flight hardware for the Starlink project. You will engage with senior leadership during critical design phases, ensuring that your designs align with the overall mission of providing reliable internet connectivity through the world's largest satellite constellation. Your role will involve close coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure that all aspects of the hardware are integrated effectively and meet performance specifications.

You will also be tasked with developing test plans and conducting tests to validate the performance of the hardware under various conditions. Your insights will be crucial in refining designs and addressing any issues that arise during the testing phase. You will play a key role in the production success of flight hardware, ensuring that it meets all necessary standards before it is deployed.
