You have 5+ years of experience in industrial design, particularly in the automotive or technology sectors — you've led design projects from concept to execution, ensuring that user needs and safety are prioritized throughout the process. Your strong portfolio showcases your ability to create aesthetically pleasing and functional designs that resonate with users. You are proficient in design software such as AutoCAD and Adobe XD, and you have a keen eye for detail that drives your design decisions. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with engineers and product teams to bring innovative ideas to life. Desirable

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the full industrial design process for Waymo's products, starting from initial concepts and sketches to detailed design specifications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and product management, to ensure that designs are not only innovative but also feasible and aligned with technical requirements. You will conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights that will inform your design decisions, ensuring that the final products meet the needs of riders. You will be responsible for developing and applying a cohesive design language that reflects Waymo's brand and mission. Your role will involve presenting design concepts to stakeholders and iterating based on feedback, ensuring that the final designs are polished and ready for production. You will also stay updated on industry trends and advancements in technology to continuously push the boundaries of design within the autonomous driving space.
