Schonfeld is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to join their Fund Accounting team. You'll be responsible for reviewing and reconciling financial statements and maintaining fund accruals. This role requires a bachelor's degree in Accounting and 5+ years of experience in alternative investments.
You are a highly qualified Senior Accountant with a bachelor's degree in Accounting and over 5 years of relevant experience in alternative investments asset management. You possess a strong working knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables and advanced functions like VLOOKUP and INDEX MATCH. Detail-oriented and highly organized, you adapt quickly to learning new skills and technical knowledge, taking personal responsibility and ownership of your projects.
Your experience has equipped you with the ability to review and reconcile balance sheets, income statements, and investor capital activity effectively. You have a strong sense of accountability and are comfortable interacting with various groups within the firm, as well as with external parties such as investors and service providers. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are eager to contribute to process enhancements and ad hoc projects.
Experience in fund accounting or working closely with fund auditors is a plus. Familiarity with financial reporting standards and regulations will help you excel in this role. You are also open to learning new accounting software and tools that may be utilized in the firm.
As a Senior Fund Accountant, you will review and reconcile the funds’ balance sheets and income statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with firm policies. You will maintain fund accruals and process payments to vendors and external portfolio managers, playing a crucial role in the financial operations of the firm. Your responsibilities will include reviewing monthly fund performance estimates for investor distribution and collaborating with the PM Compensation team to record investment team payouts.
You will work closely with the Valuations team to ensure that month-end marks adhere to the firm's valuation policy, contributing to the overall integrity of financial reporting. Additionally, you will assist fund auditors with testing and review year-end financial statements and notes, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and complete.
Your role will also involve identifying opportunities for process enhancements, allowing you to contribute to the continuous improvement of the Fund Accounting team. You will engage in ad hoc projects that may arise, showcasing your ability to adapt and take on new challenges as they come.
Schonfeld offers a competitive salary range of $140,000 to $160,000, along with potential performance bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.
