You have 5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure and cost management. Your expertise in AWS allows you to design and implement effective monitoring and optimization strategies that drive cost efficiency. Your collaboration and communication skills are excellent, allowing you to partner effectively across engineering and finance teams. Familiarity with FinOps principles, tagging strategies, and budgeting best practices is a plus, as you understand the importance of financial governance in cloud operations.

What you'll do

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer under the Infra FinOps team, you will own the design, build, and operation of systems that ensure accurate visibility into cloud costs. Your responsibilities will include maintaining and enhancing internal tools used for AWS cost monitoring and forecasting. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to provide actionable insights that drive cost efficiency across Careem’s infrastructure. You will also be responsible for implementing infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation, ensuring that the systems you build are scalable and maintainable. Your role will involve analyzing cloud spending patterns and identifying optimization opportunities to help teams adhere to their AWS budgets. You will collaborate with engineering teams to enhance monitoring and alerting systems, ensuring that all stakeholders have the necessary visibility into cloud costs. Your contributions will directly impact the financial health of Careem’s operations, making your role crucial in the organization’s mission to simplify and improve people’s lives.
