Who you are

You are knowledgeable and experienced with heavy equipment operation, capable of safely and efficiently performing all essential functions of the job. You are a quick learner who can work with little to no supervision, understanding and following written and verbal job instructions with ease. Your ability to operate machinery in a timely and safe manner is crucial to your success in this role. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, along with superior cognitive and systems knowledge to achieve production goals. Proficiency in mathematics is also beneficial.

What you'll do

As a Utility Operator at Enviva, you will be responsible for all aspects of the continuous operation of the plant, including safety, equipment operation, monitoring, machine setup, and cleaning. You will operate mobile equipment such as skid steers, forklifts, lulls, and front-end loaders, ensuring that all equipment is inspected daily and maintained in clean, good working order. Your responsibilities will also include performing daily preventative maintenance on equipment and standard work cleaning activities of emissions equipment, tooling changes, housekeeping, and washdowns. You will support and carry out activities with routine inspections and maintenance of the dryer, furnace, emissions, and environmental equipment, contributing to a safe and efficient working environment.
