Overview

Amazon is hiring an Engineering Operations Technician to maintain mission-critical technology infrastructure. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime. This role requires hands-on troubleshooting skills and knowledge of data center operations.

Who you are

You are an Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems, ready to tackle the challenges of maintaining mission-critical technology infrastructure. Your hands-on experience with troubleshooting and operating complex systems makes you a critical guardian of our technological backbone. You understand the importance of uptime and are committed to ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working alongside a diverse team of engineers and specialists to solve complex problems. You are detail-oriented and have a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues before they impact operations. You are eager to learn and grow within the field, continuously seeking to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Desirable

Experience with data center operations or related fields is a plus, as is familiarity with AWS infrastructure services. A background in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering will help you excel in this role. You are comfortable working with various systems, including diesel generators, UPSs, and cooling systems, and you have a passion for technology and innovation.

What you'll do

As an Engineering Operations Technician, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the heartbeat of our data centers. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting and operating electrical and mechanical equipment, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. You will work with stand-by diesel generators, three-phase electrical systems, and cooling equipment, contributing to our goal of achieving 99.999% uptime. You will collaborate with other technicians and engineers to perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs, ensuring that our facilities are always ready to support our global digital experiences. You will also participate in projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and reliability, providing valuable insights based on your hands-on experience. Your role will require you to stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies, allowing you to bring innovative solutions to the team.
