Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in systems engineering with a focus on automation and operations — your experience includes overseeing high-availability services and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency. You are familiar with AWS services and understand the intricacies of cloud computing, particularly in a European context. You thrive in environments where you can influence technology evolution and are comfortable participating in on-call rotations to resolve incidents. Your collaborative spirit and strong communication skills enable you to effectively engage with diverse teams and stakeholders.

What you'll do

In this role, you will spearhead the launch of the European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) in 2025, working closely with AWS Managed Operations teams. You will be responsible for building and leading operations and development teams dedicated to delivering high-availability AWS services exclusively for EU customers. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include collaborating with technology leaders to enhance operational processes and ensure improvements in service availability, reliability, latency, and performance. You will also contribute to the strategic direction of AWS services and technology, ensuring that they align with customer needs and expectations.
