Overview

SpaceX is seeking a Hardware Reliability Engineer for their Starshield satellite systems. You'll analyze hardware reliability and work cross-team to improve design and production processes. This role requires experience in data analysis and failure investigation.

You have a strong background in hardware reliability engineering, with experience analyzing and improving the reliability of complex systems. Your analytical skills allow you to investigate failures and derive actionable insights from data, ensuring that hardware systems operate effectively in challenging environments. You are comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and operations engineers, to address reliability issues and enhance system performance. Your experience spans the entire engineering process, from understanding the physics of failure in individual components to assessing their impact on the overall system. You are detail-oriented and proactive, always seeking ways to improve processes and outcomes. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about contributing to innovative projects that push the boundaries of technology.

Desirable

Experience with satellite systems or aerospace engineering is a plus, as is familiarity with reliability engineering principles and methodologies. A background in data-driven decision-making and a strong understanding of hardware systems will set you apart in this role.

What you'll do

As a Hardware Reliability Engineer for SpaceX's Starshield satellite systems, you will be responsible for investigating and analyzing hardware reliability within the satellite constellation. Your daily tasks will involve working closely with design, production, and operations teams to respond to on-orbit data and address any anomalies that arise. You will utilize your failure investigation skills to determine root causes of hardware issues and implement solutions to enhance reliability. Additionally, you will create comprehensive monitoring systems to ensure the health of the entire satellite fleet. Your role will require you to provide data-driven insights at various stages of the design and production process, driving improvements in reliability and performance.
