JavaPythonJenkinsJUnitTerraform

Overview

DigiCert is seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of their platforms. You'll work primarily with Java and Python, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software. This role requires experience in Agile methodologies and cloud-native applications.

Job Description

Who you are

You have experience as a Software Engineer, ideally with a focus on Java and Python — you understand the intricacies of developing high-quality software and have a knack for debugging and maintaining code. You thrive in Agile environments, whether Scrum or Kanban, and enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions.

Your background includes working with cloud-native applications and services-based architecture — you are familiar with DevOps principles and continuous deployment practices. You have a passion for writing efficient and maintainable code, adhering to best practices, and you are always looking to improve your skills through code reviews and learning from senior team members.

You are comfortable with database optimization and have experience developing and optimizing database schemas and queries — you understand the importance of performance and scalability in software applications. You are also familiar with automation tools like Jenkins, Gradle, and Terraform, which you use to streamline development processes.

You stay updated with new technologies and are eager to share insights with your team — you believe in the power of collaboration and continuous learning. You are committed to applying secure coding practices and methodologies, ensuring that the software you develop is not only functional but also secure.

Desirable

Experience with additional programming languages or frameworks is a plus — you are open to learning and adapting to new technologies as needed. A background in security practices related to software development would also be beneficial, given DigiCert's focus on digital trust.

What you'll do

As a Software Engineer at DigiCert, you will be a key contributor to the design, development, and maintenance of our platforms — your work will directly impact the security and trust that our customers place in our solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management and design, to ensure that the software we deliver meets the needs of our customers.

You will participate in Agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning and retrospectives — your insights will help shape the direction of the team and the products we build. You will write, debug, and maintain code primarily in Java, with opportunities to work in Python and other languages as needed.

You will assist in the development and optimization of database schemas and queries for applications — your understanding of performance and scalability will be crucial in this role. You will also learn and utilize tools for automation, such as Jenkins and Terraform, to enhance our development processes.

Monitoring and troubleshooting software performance issues will be part of your responsibilities — you will work with your team to identify and resolve issues, ensuring that our applications run smoothly and efficiently. You will also participate in code reviews, helping to improve the skills of your peers while learning best practices yourself.

What we offer

DigiCert offers generous time off policies and top-shelf benefits to support your well-being — we believe in a healthy work-life balance. We provide education, wellness, and lifestyle support to help you thrive both personally and professionally. Join us in our mission to build trust in the digital world, and be part of a team that values innovation and collaboration.
