Overview

Amazon is hiring an Engineering Operations Technician to maintain and troubleshoot mission-critical technology infrastructure. You'll work with electrical and mechanical systems to ensure 99.999% uptime. This role requires hands-on experience with data center operations.

Who you are

You are an entry-level Engineering Technician with a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems. You have hands-on experience troubleshooting complex equipment and are eager to learn about data center operations. Your attention to detail ensures that you maintain high standards of uptime and reliability in mission-critical environments. You thrive in collaborative settings, working alongside a diverse team of engineers and specialists to solve challenging problems. You are committed to continuous improvement and are excited about the opportunity to contribute to the technological infrastructure that powers global digital experiences.

Desirable

Experience with diesel generators and three-phase electrical systems is a plus. Familiarity with cooling systems, including centrifugal chillers and air handlers, will help you excel in this role. You are adaptable and willing to learn new technologies and processes as you grow in your career.

What you'll do

As an Engineering Operations Technician at Amazon, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the heartbeat of our data centers. You will be responsible for operating and troubleshooting mission-critical facilities, ensuring that all systems function seamlessly. Your expertise will directly contribute to maintaining an extraordinary 99.999% uptime, which is essential for our global customers. You will work with stand-by diesel generators, UPS systems, and various electrical components, ensuring they are always ready to support our operations.

You will collaborate closely with software, hardware, and network engineers to address any issues that arise, ensuring that our infrastructure remains robust and reliable. Your role will involve regular inspections and maintenance of equipment, as well as responding to incidents and performing root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences. You will also document your findings and contribute to the continuous improvement of our operational processes.
