You'll leverage your expertise in software development and security practices. This role requires 8+ years of experience in software development and 3+ years in a leadership position.
You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, along with 8 years of experience in software development. Your background includes at least 3 years of experience in building software focused on data privacy or security, such as identity and access management. You have also spent 3 years in a technical leadership role and 2 years in people management or team leadership. You thrive in a matrixed organization and have experience with development or hardware-based security. Your technical expertise allows you to provide leadership on major projects while managing a team of engineers effectively.
You are adept at optimizing your own code and ensuring that your team can optimize theirs as well. You understand the importance of aligning project goals with the broader organizational objectives and are skilled at developing technical goals and roadmaps that evolve to meet future requirements. You are a strong communicator, capable of discussing performance and development with team members regularly, providing feedback and coaching to help them grow.
Experience in a matrixed organization is a plus, as is familiarity with development or hardware-based security. You are comfortable working across various teams and locations, guiding engineers through complex projects while maintaining a focus on security and data privacy.
As an Engineering Manager at Google, you will lead a team of engineers in the Cloud Infrastructure Security domain. Your responsibilities will include managing project goals, contributing to product strategy, and overseeing the deployment of large-scale projects.
