Garda Capital Partners • Geneva, Geneva, Switzerland
Garda Capital Partners is seeking an Oil Products Analyst to develop supply and demand models for the Atlantic Basin Diesel market. You'll utilize your quantitative and programming skills, particularly in Python and SQL, to support the Swiss Macro Desk in Geneva.
You have 1-3 years of experience in a relevant role at a top-tier trading house, oil major, bank, or hedge fund — you understand the intricacies of financial markets and have a keen interest in commodities. Your educational background includes a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in finance, economics, or a similar quantitative discipline, equipping you with the analytical skills necessary for this role.
Exceptional quantitative and programming skills are your forte — you are proficient in Python and SQL, allowing you to manipulate data effectively and develop robust models. You possess strong written and oral communication skills, enabling you to articulate complex ideas clearly and collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Critical thinking and a strong attention to detail are second nature to you — you approach problems with an independent mindset and are motivated to innovate and improve processes. Your intellectual curiosity drives you to explore cross-commodity opportunities, including Gas & Power, Precious Metals, and Base Metals.
You thrive in a high-energy, time-sensitive team environment — your ability to work collaboratively with others while managing multiple tasks is a key strength. You are eager to learn from senior risk takers across Fixed Income, FX, and Equities, and you are committed to developing your expertise in the commodities space.
A background in relationship management with Bank Research and Sales desks, as well as experience working with data vendors, would be advantageous. Familiarity with the oil products market and a genuine interest in financial markets will set you apart as a candidate.
In your role as an Oil Products Analyst, you will initially focus on developing a supply and demand model for the Atlantic Basin Diesel market — this foundational work will set the stage for expanding your analysis into all Oil Products and Crude globally. You will collaborate closely with the Portfolio Manager, supporting them in relationship management with Bank Research and Sales desks, ensuring that you are well-informed and able to provide valuable insights.
As you build out your expertise, you will have the opportunity to look cross-commodity, exploring areas such as Gas & Power, Precious Metals, and Base Metals — this will not only enhance your analytical skills but also broaden your understanding of the commodities landscape. Your contributions will be integral to the Swiss Macro team, where you will gain exposure to senior risk takers and learn from their experience in navigating complex financial markets.
You will be responsible for analyzing market trends and data, providing actionable insights that will inform investment strategies — your ability to synthesize information and present it clearly will be crucial in this role. You will also engage in continuous learning, seeking out new methodologies and approaches to improve your models and analyses.
Garda Capital Partners offers a dynamic work environment where you will be part of a multi-billion dollar alternative investment firm with over 22 years of experience. You will have the chance to work alongside experienced professionals in the commodities space, gaining invaluable insights and mentorship.
We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement — your enthusiasm for learning and growing in the field is what we value most. You will have access to resources and support that will help you develop your skills and advance your career in finance and commodities.
Join us in Geneva, where you will be part of a collaborative team that is committed to excellence and innovation in investment strategies. We look forward to welcoming you to our team.
