Applied AI Engineer

Who you are

You have a strong background in full-stack development, with fluency in Next.js and React for the front end, and Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask for the back end. Your expertise in TypeScript and JavaScript allows you to build robust APIs and wire data effectively. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with research and backend teams to turn vague customer use cases into tangible prototypes.

You are comfortable experimenting with various AI tools and techniques, including memory retrieval approaches, embeddings, indexing, and hybrid search. Your analytical mindset enables you to define success metrics and evaluate the performance of your prototypes, ensuring they meet task-level quality and latency targets. You are detail-oriented, capable of documenting your work clearly to facilitate a smooth handoff to engineering teams for production.

You understand the importance of rapid prototyping and are eager to implement new ideas and techniques from research papers. Your ability to communicate trade-offs and collaborate with cross-functional teams makes you a valuable asset in any project. You are driven by results and are always looking for ways to improve the integration of AI into customer workflows.

Desirable

Experience with additional AI tools and frameworks is a plus, as is familiarity with telemetry and evaluation harnesses. You are open to learning and adapting to new technologies as they emerge in the fast-evolving field of AI.

What you'll do

In this role, you will own the process of turning customer use cases into working proofs-of-concept. This involves building end-to-end demos that integrate Mem0 into customer workflows, combining UI, APIs, and data seamlessly. You will experiment with various memory retrieval techniques, trying out different embeddings, indexing methods, and caching strategies to achieve optimal performance.

You will collaborate closely with the research team to implement innovative ideas and compare them against existing baselines. Your role will also involve creating evaluation harnesses to define success metrics and instrumenting demos with telemetry to track performance. You will work with backend engineers to establish clean contracts and data models, ensuring that your prototypes are ready for production.

Your responsibilities will include documenting your work, writing scripts, and creating templates that will help the engineering team quickly productionize successful prototypes.
