You are well-versed in vulnerability management and have a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks — your analytical skills allow you to assess security threats effectively and implement robust solutions. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to reinforce security standards and practices.

Your leadership experience has equipped you with the ability to mentor and guide junior security professionals — you believe in fostering a culture of security awareness and continuous improvement within your team. You are passionate about creating secure systems that empower users while maintaining compliance with industry regulations.

What you'll do

In this role, you will define and drive the security architecture for Oportun's platforms, applications, and data — your primary focus will be on implementing secure-by-design principles that align with the company's mission of providing affordable credit. You will lead efforts in identity and access management, ensuring that user data is protected and access is granted based on established security policies.

You will oversee vulnerability management processes, conducting regular assessments and audits to identify potential security gaps — your findings will inform the development of remediation strategies that enhance the overall security posture of the organization. Collaborating with engineering teams, you will advocate for security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

Your role will also involve staying updated on the latest security trends and threats — you will leverage this knowledge to adapt and evolve Oportun's security strategies, ensuring that they remain effective against emerging risks. You will play a key role in incident response planning and execution, leading efforts to investigate and remediate security incidents as they arise.
