Datadog is seeking a Strategic Account Executive to target and close new business with large, strategic customers. You'll focus on understanding customer pain points in cloud environments and delivering tailored solutions. This role requires 3+ years of closing experience and a proven track record in sales.
You have 3+ years of closing experience, ideally with a mix of field selling within mid-market or enterprise environments. You are driven and have consistently met or exceeded direct sales goals of over $1M, operating with an average deal size of $100k or more. Your ability to prospect and build relationships is intuitive, allowing you to navigate complex sales processes effectively. You understand the importance of maintaining and building relationship maps for your territory, including existing relationships and aspirational contacts. You possess a deep comprehension of customers' businesses and can negotiate favorable pricing and business terms by selling value and ROI. Resourcefulness is one of your strengths, especially when faced with challenges that defy easy solutions. You have a keen sense of the necessary steps to close business and gain customer validation, ensuring high forecasting accuracy and consistency.
In this role, you will prospect into large Fortune 1000 companies while running an efficient sales process. You will maintain, build, and own specific relationship maps for your territory, which includes both existing relationships and aspirational contacts. Developing a deep understanding of your customers' businesses will be crucial as you identify their pain points, particularly as they operate in or migrate to a cloud environment at scale. You will negotiate favorable pricing and business terms with large commercial enterprises, focusing on selling value and ROI. Handling existing customer expectations while expanding your reach and depth into your assigned territory will be part of your daily responsibilities. You will demonstrate resourcefulness when faced with challenges and have an intuitive sense of the necessary steps to close business and gain customer validation. Ensuring high forecasting accuracy and consistency will be essential to your success in this role.
