Senior Machine Learning Engineer II - LLM

Who you are

You have 5+ years of experience in machine learning engineering, with a strong focus on building and optimizing ML infrastructure. Your expertise includes working with large language models (LLMs) and you are familiar with the challenges of distributed training and inference pipelines. You have a solid understanding of model evaluation and monitoring frameworks, and you are skilled in optimizing LLM latency. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams of engineers, data analysts, and product managers to deliver impactful AI solutions.

You possess deep knowledge of Python and are proficient in using machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch. Your experience with cloud platforms like AWS allows you to effectively deploy and manage machine learning models at scale. You are comfortable with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, which are essential for building scalable ML systems. You have a passion for solving complex problems and are eager to contribute to the long-term scalability of AI products.

Desirable

Experience with MLflow for managing the machine learning lifecycle is a plus. Familiarity with data engineering practices and tools will enhance your ability to build robust data pipelines that support machine learning workflows. You are also open to exploring new technologies and methodologies that can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of machine learning processes.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing scalable machine learning infrastructure that supports the training, evaluation, and deployment of large language models. You will collaborate with the ML infra team to develop abstractions that automate various steps in different ML workflows, ensuring that the infrastructure is efficient and user-friendly. Your work will directly impact the way customers experience AI, as you will be building the foundation for hundreds of ML and NLP models in production.

You will engage in distributed training and inference, tackling challenges related to scalability and optimization of core algorithms. Your role will involve evaluating and monitoring models to ensure they meet performance standards and are continuously improved. You will also work closely with data infrastructure teams to ensure that data flows seamlessly through the ML pipelines, enabling effective model training and deployment.
